The traceability of Australian cotton is another step closer, with a joint Board meeting of Cotton Australia and the Cotton Research and Development Corporation to progress this and the other Australian Cotton Strategic Roadmap topics.
Brooke Summers provided an update on the traceability research being conducted for the industry under a grant from the Queensland government. The first two phases to scope industry requirements and identify possible solutions are complete, with plans underway for the third and final Pilot Phase.
It’s hoped the Pilot will also test interoperability and data requirements via the CRDC Data Platform build, due to commence in the next few months and both organisations have begun scoping traceability cost models.
