Sussan celebrated International Women’s Day this month, highlighting the women shaping the brand across its business and supply chain.

Marking this year’s theme, Balance the Scales, the campaign showcases a diverse group of women - from team members and creatives to partners working across sourcing and production who are driving progress through leadership, collaboration and lived experience. Cotton Australia’s Ashley Hollis was among those featured.

With nearly 15 years of experience championing natural fibres, Ashley’s inclusion reflects the important role of Australia’s cotton industry within the broader fashion and textile supply chain.

For Ashley, the theme Balance the Scales speaks to fairness and representation across industries. “It’s about fairness and not favouritism,” she said. “In my work across agriculture, fashion and the global supply chain, it’s so important to bring women’s voices to the table - especially in decision-making positions where they have real experience to influence outcomes.”

She also emphasised the importance of designing opportunities that recognise the realities of women’s careers. “It means designing opportunities with real intent, understanding there are mental loads and career pauses in women’s lives, while still recognising the value of their leadership and ambition,” she said.

Through her work as Brands Relationships Manager at Cotton Australia, Ashley continues to strengthen connections between growers and brands, helping to tell the story of Australian cotton from farm to finished product.

Sussan’s campaign shines a light on the individuals behind its products and partnerships, recognising the contribution of women across every stage - from cotton farms through to the retail floor and beyond - reinforcing the collective effort required to create a more equitable and transparent industry.
