From Farm to Fashion: Aussie Cotton Took Centre Stage for World Cotton Day
Channel Seven's Sunrise broadcast live from the McVeigh family farm and LDC Dalby gin for World Cotton Day.

Cotton Australia joined thousands of organisations around the world to celebrate World Cotton Day on 7 October – a global event that shines a light on the importance of the natural fibre and the farmers and communities who grow it.

Cotton Australia kicked things off early with a live cross on Channel Seven’s Weekend Sunrise, broadcasting from the Darling Downs property of cotton growers Steve and Bridget McVeigh. Sunrise host JT jumped in a cotton picker, toured the LDC Gin in Dalby, and followed the journey of Australian cotton from field to finished product — showing viewers how this premium fibre ends up in the clothes and homewares they love.

Our brand partners joined in the celebrations, including Bambury, Sussan, Sportsgirl, RB Sellars and Dri-Glo, proudly showcasing their use of homegrown fibre and their beautiful products made from Australian cotton.
