Dri-Glo talks to Riverina farmer Annabel Burge in ‘Behind the Thread’ Series
Alistair and Annabel Burge on their Riverina farm.

To mark World Cotton Day, Dri-Glo has launched Behind the Thread - a beautiful three-part series celebrating the family-run farms that grow premium, responsibly produced Australian cotton for the global market (and that might just end up in your bathroom!).

The series also showcases the Dri-Glo Avalon Australian Cotton Towel range, available exclusively at Spotlight. Made with locally grown cotton, the towels are a testament to the quality and softness of Australian fibre.

In the first instalment, Dri-Glo sits down with Riverina grower Annabel Burge to explore what a day in the life of a cotton farmer looks like.

“As cotton growers, every season brings something different, depending on the weather and how much water is available in the system.” Annabel says.

As planting season has recently kicked off, this will be front of mind.

“Our main focus is crop management, getting the paddocks prepared for planting, working closely with our agronomist to monitor and analyse the crop, and putting a lot of time into planning ahead based on how the crop is looking and what the market is doing.”

Future installments will touch on what it means to growers to see that brands are prioritising Australian cotton in their products. We’re proud to see Australian cotton and the families who grow it celebrated by our licensed brand partners.
