Cotton Australia has been awarded an Export Market Development Grant (EMDG) from the Australian government, aiming to bolster the global presence of the country’s premium cotton.

The grant, part of a government initiative to assist exporters in expanding to new markets, will provide Cotton Australia with vital financial support to promote the nation’s cotton and cotton products internationally.

The funding will help enhance marketing efforts, sharing the exciting milestones achieved by the industry here and driving demand for the Australian grown fibre.

“Because our cotton production system varies greatly from production systems used in most parts of the world, a key part of our promotion is demonstrating to brands our sustainability and quality credentials.” said Michael Murray, General Manager of Cotton Australia.

The grant will enable Cotton Australia to strategically target emerging markets while strengthening its foothold in existing regions.

This achievement represents a significant win for the broader cotton industry and regional communities across Australia. The increased global exposure will help to generate new business opportunities, aid in job creation, and further cement Australia’s position as a world leader in premium and more sustainable cotton production.
