Happy World Cotton Day 2026!

For World Cotton Day this year, we partnered with one of our licensed brands AS Colour to share the Australian cotton story with consumers in Melbourne.

AS Colour proudly supports Australian cotton through three t-shirt ranges, the Staple Tee, Box Tee and Mapel Tee. Australian cotton forms part of the brand’s Commitment to Longevity, reflecting its focus on creating products that are made to last.

To celebrate our partnership, consumers were invited to AS Colour’s Fitzroy store, VIC, to collect a free Australian cotton tee with the exclusive, limited-edition “Home Grown” screen print, honouring the fibre’s quality, its Australian provenance and the industry behind it.

The store was buzzing with a great atmosphere, food and music, as VIP customers came together to celebrate Australian cotton. There was plenty of conversation around how the fibre is grown and made its way into the garments on the rack, and the benefits of choosing Australian cotton. Customers  also shared their thoughts on the fibre itself and whether they check clothing labels and buy cotton pieces intentionally.

At the centre of these conversations was cotton grower, Sam Ryan from Leeton NSW, who attended on behalf of the Australian cotton industry. Sam shared insights into his life on a cotton farm, explained how Australian cotton is produced and helped bust some common misconceptions about cotton. As a grower who’s there at the start of the cotton journey, it was special to see him meet the other end of the supply chain, standing among the finished garments made from the cotton he grows.

"As a grower, it means a lot for all of you to be here and to hear how you care so much about the product itself. It matters to us, we’re a small family farm, so without people buying it on the back end, we can’t grow it and we don’t prosper in our little communities,” Sam said.

That sums up what the event was all about, connecting the people who grow Australian cotton with those who turn it into products and the people who wear them. Every t-shirt  has a story, and that story begins long before it reaches the shop floor.

AS Colour Event

It was such a heart-warming evening, made even more so by the shared passion and commitment to delivering quality garments that are thoughtfully sourced, reflecting our own commitment to thoughtfully grown cotton and the communities behind it.

This connection was equally important to AS Colour. As AS Colour’s National Sales Manager, Elijah Nguyen shared, the partnership reflects a shared commitment to quality, innovation and continually finding better ways to create products and care for the planet.

"You're now a part of our story,” Elijah said.

“AS Colour is known for its innovation and its stance on quality. We're constantly progressing and never sitting still. We're always looking ahead at how we can be better.

“That's why this partnership with Australian Cotton is such a big deal: we share the exact same ethos."

A very big thank you to AS Colour for your ongoing support and commitment to the Australian cotton industry. We are proud to partner with a brand that shares our values and love for Australian cotton.
