As the school year gets underway, Australian cotton is taking centre stage in everyday school essentials, with Target Australia featuring the fibre across its Back-to-School 2026 range. The collection includes a selection of uniform staples, accessories and supplies designed to help families prepare for the year ahead.
The retailer has leaned into natural fibres this year with a selection of schoolwear made from Australian cotton, verified with the Australian Cotton Mark. Cotton’s natural breathability and durability is perfect for long school days and active play, making the pieces both comfortable and easy to care for.
“Target has been part of our Australian Cotton Mark licensing program for several years, but over the past two years we’ve seen a real shift in how they’re bringing the Mark to life,” says Ashley Hollis, Cotton Australia’s Brand Relationship Manager, who works closely with Target to help verify their Australian cotton supply chains.
“The Mark is now being actively highlighted through campaigns and in-store activity, helping customers recognise the Australian Cotton Mark and better understand the connection between the product and the farmers behind it,” she says.
With Australian cotton increasingly visible in school uniform ranges, families are also being given clearer opportunities to choose products that support local growers and the regional communities they represent - while still meeting the practical needs of everyday school life at an affordable price point.
